Description
Chainsaws are used by a wide range of people in a wide range of occupations, it is a useful tool but if not properly maintained or trained on, a chainsaw can be very dangerous and holds great potential for injury. This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge required to safely maintain and operate a chainsaw. The training covers a wide range of topics including legislation, tree hazards, personal protective equipment, pre-operation inspection, kickback prevention, notching, limbing and felling. The training consists of four hours of classroom work and three hours hands on felling and bucking in a woodlot and in the field saw sharpening.
